Duration: permanent contract, starting as soon as possible
Objectives:
- Establishment and roll-out of shared services for all GFA projects in the country in compliance
with local regulations and requirements
- GFA branch management in Senegal
The Employee will assume the role of the Finance Manager for the GFA Regional Hub in Dakar. He/she
reports to the GFA Regional Hub Coordinator and collaborates closely with the Advisory Unit and Financial
Project Management at GFA headquarters. Her/his key tasks and responsibilities include, but
are not limited to:
Financial and tax management :
- Managing the country-specific e-invoicing system including preparation and submission of tax payments
(VAT, WHT, corporate tax, and any other applicable taxes)
- Preparation and submission of the branch’s annual tax return and communication with the tax office
(in cooperation with the Regional Hub Coordinator)
- Shared services for GFA projects: Payroll management for all staff employed via the branch, including
statements of applicable taxes and social security contributions
- Preparing requests for funds from GFA HQ
- Management of the Hub’s bank accounts (together with office administrator)
- Supervision of the branch’s accounting system and preparation of financial statements
- Lead and manage internal and external audits of the branch
- Monitor the Hub’s annual budget, expenses and KPIs
- Provide quarterly financial reports to the Regional Hub Manager and Director Internationalisation
Legal and compliance management:
- Assessing and securing the legal requirements to operate the branch, including (as applicable):
business license, social security/labour registration, etc.
- Shared services for GFA projects: In close cooperation with the HQ Advisory Unit: Creation and
update of contract templates compliant with local labour law for different expert types
- Shared services for GFA projects: Management of health and accident insurances (group insurances)
for local staff and experts
The Employee reports to the Hub Manager. He/she is expected to work with minimum supervision and
to communicate regularly and effectively with the Regional Hub Manager and the respective units at
GFA HQ. The Employee is expected to maintain confidentiality on all work-related matters.
Requirements
- University degree (Bachelor) in accounting or finance qualification
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
- Demonstrated experience with financial analysis and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Prior experience working on consulting projects and/or for GFA in Senegal in a similar function is
considered as a strong asset.
- Strong communication skills, quick perception, hands-on approach, and flexibility.
- Full proficiency in written and spoken French. Professional working proficiency in English highly
desirable.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience in working with multi-disciplinary international teams and in remote settings.
